CARNO WIND FARM – PHASE II

Built in 2009 the Carno II site comprises 12 wind turbines each rated at 1,300kW giving a total installed capacity of 15.6MW. The site generates 46,000MWh of electricity per annum, enough to meet the domestic needs of 13,109 homes*.

The site is owned and operated by Amegni, a local company formed by farmers from Carno. The site includes a comprehensive habitat management scheme covering some 250 hectares of moorland which promotes biodiversity enhancement and ongoing monitoring of habitat species and bird population at the site.
